More Random Stuff

Not excatly Public enemy any more, but it's been good going lately.

-Nice to see the Willie Top 40 make a return at Willie's Blog. I noticed Jay-Z's 99 problems is on it. There is some stuff I don't know, but check it out. The link is on the list.

-Over at Jessica's Blog, I noticed that she is not a big fan of Vin Diesel. While I'm not his biggest fan, and I don't know his preference of Ladies, He has had one movie that I have enjoyed, A Man Apart. I will admit that The Chronicles Of Riddick looks like absolute dogshit.

-I just finished watching "Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story". It's a fery powerful story, that shows that Eddie has lived through it all, having lost his Family, Money and Career in a haze of Drugs and Alcohol. For a guy that always seemed to be able to turn it on in when the Red light comes on, it hard to believe it was a guy that was going through his personal hell. I hope that he is enjoying his success, he deserves it. If you can find it at from your local download dealer, it's worth a watch (or wait till it's released on DVD, The extra matches should be Great)

-New timekiller: Zuma

-While I'm happy for the Calgary Flames and hope to see them win the cup, I think it's a little early to call them "Canada's team"

-I hope that this Aliant strike will end soon, but it's not looking good. The worst part is when they finally get back, it's still going to be a month before things get back to normal. Maybe stories like this will get Aliant back to the table.

Owen

Owen

It's hard to believe it, but it has been 5 years since we lost Owen Hart.

I remember watching the scramblevision of the "Over the edge" but not really intently, as I was flipping back and forth between that and "The Jesse Ventura story" on NBC. I knew something had "happened" but didn't know the real story until the Newsbreak that the NBC station broke in with.

I really don't know what to say. I just thought I'd mention it

Public Enemy #1 and other things

Well, It was an interesting day at work. One of my calls this morning was from a guy that asked me to speak up and when I did, apparently thought that I was being rude to him. There's a couple things that was brought up that I can't talk about here because they are work related, but the bottom line is that I ended up with a long weekend because I wouldn't call him back and apologize for apparently offending him.

I was told that I did nothing wrong as far as the supervisors could tell, but if I didn't call him back, I would be suspended till Tuesday. I once again stated that I did nothing wrong and took the weekend.

I'm not angry, relieved is more of it, just for the fact that I got a few days off and while the cash is good, it's not worth it to say I did something wrong when I did not. I'm wrong enough that I don't have to take the heat for things I'm not wrong about.

I'm mostly disappointed that after two years, that I wouldn't have the support of the people there to back me up. I guess that's what happens when you piss off "The Clique". I made the mistake of actually standing up for myself and we can't have that, so let's knock him down a few pegs. If anyone from there is reading this,
remember, Karma's a bitch, and I'll sleep well tonight. I'll even get a chance to sleep in on Saturday.

--Just finished the second season of the West Wing last night and If there is a better drama on television, I don't know what it is. The worse part is it's going to be at least 8 months before Season 3 comes out. I've said it before but I think that the best hour on television was/is the season end episode Two
Cathedrals
. When Martin Sheen (playing President Bartlett) starts "ranting" at God in Latin, it can send a chill down your spine.

--Speaking about chills, This past Monday night on RAW, when The Rock's music hit, it was obvious that it was going to be a moment. Him and Eugene made for a "Must-see TV" moment, even if you are not a wrestling fan. The WWE needs to keep Rock under contract no matter what the cost. In 15 minutes, He made Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore a star.

--I've got judgment Day downloaded but I haven't watched a lot of it yet. Looks like I got some time this weekend, so I'll take care of it. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'll at least watch John Cena, Mordacai and the main event.

--I upgraded my internet yesterday as well to a 5mbit connection. It pretty much doubled my speed. Before and After. It seems to working great, let's hope it stays that way.

A maybe not so popular view

So 2499 of my closest friends and I spent the evening at the exhibition building last night. I don't think the building knew what to do, as 2500 people haven't seen the ex buildings in years, even during the ex.

All (or at least most) jokes aside, I went to a meeting to show my disapproval with the current rumors of bed cuts and loss of regional status for our 8-year old hospital >check it out here. I must say that I was impressed with the turnout, as usually the fact that people from Newcastle and Chatham would agree on anything more serious then if the sun will rise in the morning. The only thing people on the river will agree on more then their dislike for the other side is the fact that they are tired of getting screwed by the people in Fredericton.

It came to me as I was eating supper and reading the paper. We've lost St Thomas University, CFB Chatham, 2 Nursing programs and the very idenity of our own areas in amalgamation. It seems that when anything needs to be cut by the governments, it always Miramichi that gets looked at first. Then when it's time for the jobs to come back, they go to Moncton, Saint John or Fredericton because Miramichiers are nothing but fat, EI-cheating people who don't want to work anyway.

That seems to be the attitude of some of the elected officials from other parts of the province. Hell, one even spoke of it in the Legislature. It's ok to screw around Miramichi, they'll just sit there and take it anyway. I think that last night's rally showed that we will not be screwed around with anymore.

I think that the attitude comes from our old friend, Language. Miramichi is one of the few places in the province that English and French live together in something that could almost be considered harmony. To boil it down, Miramichi is too English for Moncton and too French for Fredericton.

At last official count 8 buses will be heading to the capital tomorrow morning, along with hundreds of people in their own cars (just for a second forgetting about the $1 a liter gas prices) to voice their displeasure with the trial balloon that the Lord
government sent up to see the public response. I think that they have seen the response...and I'm not sure that they like it.

You have a response...Leave a comment or use the tag-board

What in the blue hell?

Weekend update

It's been a beautiful week, sunshine wise. It's too bad that the wind is too cold. The impossible even happened at work a couple of days ago, I got cold. It was amazing to the people around me. If the wind would just go down, it would be great.

-So I did something else I said I wouldn't do, I got myself a webcam. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, bit I got it and it's all set up on the pc.

-Went to M&M meat shop in Douglastown on Thursday night to look around. OH MY GOD!! This is the store of my future cardiologist's dreams. All for a decent price. I highly recommend their bacon wrapped Filet Mignon, leave it on the BBQ for about 20 minutes over warm coals ( for medium well, how I like my steak) and it will change your life. Take that, Mad Cow Disease.

-Speaking of BBQ, Word has come down that the world famous Willie Pub Crawl, has been put down for a year as there is a BBQ going to go down in the 'chi. I look forward to having, maybe 1 or 2, maybe a few more beers in celebration of the day that it was brought to the earth, and things have never been the same again. I'm sure that more details will be made available on Willie's Blog, so be sure to take a look if you are so inclined

-As most of you know, I am a big fan of the TechTV network, trying not to miss an episode of the flagship shows "The Screen Savers" and "Call for Help". So it was with great sadness that I came across this story.
Comcast is going to be combining TechTV with it's G4 Gaming network, but it seems that they are not interested with doing it with the TechTV staff. Some of the younger hosts may make their way to the new network, but it looks like my favorites, Leo Laporte and Patrick Norton won't be making the move. It's too bad, as why I enjoy Kevin, Sarah, Jessica and most of the other crew over there, they just don't seem to have the combination of tech knowledge and TV smarts that Leo and Pat have. Hopefully, G4 will prove me wrong and bring these guys back but I'm not holding my breath

Ouch

This must be the most painful video I've ever watched, next to Freddy got fingered
