Well, I guess it is time for another update here in the office. Seems every time that I update I say that it’s going to happen more often, but it just doesn’t seem to happen that way. Well, let’s get to the news.

The character of CD Lawrence is dead, at least for now. After a good run in the NWF, RPW and a not so successful run in the ICWF, I decided that having to sit down and write RP’s were getting to be just a little too much like work. So instead of killing the character more then I already had, I decided to stop. It’s a character that I’m sure that I will go back to in one medium or another eventually. I think the character is ripe for at least a book, so maybe I can get working on that. Maybe this new wireless keyboard and mouse will get some use after all ?

On the work front, I’m still slaving away at ICT. On the phones most of the time, but just spending enough time off the phones to make me keep my senses together. It’s getting to the point where I am enjoying the phones more as there seems to be more stress off the phones. The breaking point for a lot of people seems to be around the corner. I know what it looks like, because I was there. I think it was good news for a lot of people that I ended up taking two weeks off when I did.

Those two weeks I did nothing except watch TV and play Smackdown: Here comes the pain on my new PS2 (That arrived on my second day off, how’s that for timing). It was great not having to worry about the next absolutely idiotic piece of “brilliance” (/sarcasm) that was going to come from the office around the corner. Some people amaze me with their talent of walking upright with their head up their ass.

On the social scene, it’s been rather quiet as I’ve been working mornings at 6am so I can get out of there early. I figured if I still have to be there, the best thing for me is to get out of there as early in the day as I can so I have to spend the least amount of time with…never mind, I was getting off on a rant about work again.

Let’s try this again, shall we? The social scene has been a little quiet, as I’m spending as much time as possible trying to get some rest. Watching the Miramichi UPM Timberwolves has become almost a given when they are playing at home. It’s a great team this year, clinching the division title and heading to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. It’s been a while since I was to the Opera House, before Christmas I think. It just dosen’t seem to have as much of a pull as it used to. Maybe it’s the crowd that gets in there on a Saturday night.

Speaking of crowds, I was at the Nickelback concert on Thursday night along with over 6,100 of my closest friends. It was one hell of a show with The Trews and Three Days Grace opening up. The 4-hour show was worth every penny that I paid for my tickets. That’s my one concert this year, but with a Great Big Sea tour expected in the fall, where they say that they will play any hockey rink. Bar or rec room that their equipment will fit into, maybe I’ll hit to concerts this year ?

CD’s I’ve actually bought lately include:

Great Big Sea- Something Beautiful* This is an album that takes a few listens to begin to understand, but it grows on you. Does it measure up to the greatness that are Up or Play? I don’t think so, but it goes on my list ahead of Turn, the CD that I consider to be the weakest of the GBS catalogue.

Five for Fighting- The Battle for Everything. More of the same for John Ondrasik, and there is not a thing wrong with that. “100 Years” was a good choice for a lead single.

Three Days Grace-
Before seeing these guys in concert, I don’t think I’d of gone across the street to get this album. After seeing them in concert, I don’t think that the CD will leave my stereo for a while.

I’ve also got the Mick Foley DVD from amazon.ca and was impressed by the great WWF/WWE matches that were on it. However, I was a little disappointed by some of the choices that were made in the WCW/ECW matches. Where is the powerbomb match from WCW Saturday Night? The Funk/Cactus Jack Match from ECW when The Public Enemy got covered with chairs. I’m hoping for a volume 2

I managed to get a copy of the Monday Night Wars DVD from supernova. Without the extras, it is one of the best DVD’s they have come out with. The WWE was very fair when it came to WCW, which was a lot of what people were worried about.

Well, I guess that’s enough for now. Keep checking back, you never know when I’ll be back.
